Albert joined ILRC in 1996 when he started the Chinatown Outreach Program.
I use a Closed Circuit TV that enlarges documents. I use this mostly for forms and things that are handwritten and cant be scanned.
For typewritten documents, I use a Scanner and then I have special software called Open Book, which reads the scanned documents to me.
For my computer I use a large monitor, Zoom Text (which is a software that magnifies words) and a voice recognition software.
When I write, I try to use thick felt pens because it is easier to see.
The cellular phone is helpful because I dont have to look for pay phones.
Voice Mate has a talking phone book, memo, calendar, clock, calculator and it helps me with dialing assistance.
The computer is the most important to me because it helps me read and gives me access to information. Now I dont have to ask for help, which allows me to be more independent.
