Chloe joined ILRC's staff as our Administrative Assistant in 2001. Chloe's disability is Environmental Illness/Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (EI/MCS). (To accommodate persons with EI/MCS, ILRC is a scent-free environment).
I use a personal air purifier. I wear it around my neck and it helps purify the air around me and helps me breath better.
I use a room air purifier.
I use all unscented products.
I also use a special vacuum cleaner that has a double filter.
Anything that will help clean the air.
I keep a mask with me, but I dont like to wear it because it makes me feel claustrophobic.
I get allergy shots and I use pillboxes to help me remember to take my medications.
Assistive Technology helps me breath better. It protects me from some of the normal things in the air, and helps protect me from harmful things in the air. It makes a difference in just traveling around. My personal air purifier gives me the courage to go most anyplace.
